Our first coffeehouse was opened in Carmel Valley in 1994. We roasted in-store using a single 25 lb. San Franciscan roasting machine. Since then we've upgraded to a 132 lb. vintage Farina Italian roasting machine but we love to sample roast on the original machine.

Stayed in Carmel a couple of years ago and stumbled into Carmel Valley on a rainy afternoon. What a wonderful experience! We loved it so much, we bought some roasted beans to bring home to Florida…and when we ran out, we couldn’t help but order some more…. Three years later, and this has become our little indulgence. It’s a great coffee and a great memory. Saturday morning, we are back in Carmel!

I’m not a barista, but this is better than some popular coffee brands! Smooth, tasty, perhaps a bit creamy, this flavor wakes me up in the morning. The drip grinds are perfectly ground and 1 TB per cup wakes me up but doesn’t get me the jitters.
